Swedish waffles by Johan Bergman

This a recipe for traditional Swedish waffles. It's very basic so I recommend that you serve it with for example ice cream and/or jam.

Ingredients for 1 batch

  • 3 1/2 ounces of butter
  • 1 1/4 cups of wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1 2/3 cups of milk

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a small saucepan.
  2. Add the wheat flour, the baking powder and half of the milk into a bowl and mix it until everything is smoothly mixed.
  3. Add the rest of the milk and the melted butter. Mix again.
  4. Now it's time for the waffle baking! Depending on your waffle iron, it might have to be greased beforehand. Also note that you usually have to take less batter than you think.
